What we ask for, and why
If you are a parish administrator on a norfolkparishes.gov.uk site, we, Gallomanor, will collect information from you to send you updates.
If you’re a parish administrator, we’ll ask you a few questions on your profile page. You can answer these if you want to and edit them at any time.
This is what we ask all parish administrators:
|Username / display name||Visible when you write a post or leave a comment. (Visible on the site)|
|Email address||This is required so we can contact someone if there are any problems, and send you updates about the site. (Only visible to admins)|
Your data is shared with us by Norfolk Association of Local Councils (http://www.norfolkalc.gov.uk/). We maintain the website and manage the servers your data is shared on.
Your username is shown when you leave a comment and write a post. Your username can be anything, it doesn’t have to be your real name.
Your email is connected to your parish council site, so you receive email notifications if your site gets any updates, a post is published, or comments are left on your site.
If you add your email address to the subscription widget on a parish website, you will automatically receive any news posts written by the parish administrator on that parish website. You can unsubscribe from this list at any time by contacting the administrator, or clicking unsubscribe from the email.
Our legal basis for collecting your information, and how you can remove it
If you are a parish administrator listed on a parish website, we collect information from you as part of our legitimate business interests. If we didn’t have this information, we wouldn’t be able to run our websites.
If you would like us to remove any of your information you can email email@example.com, and we will do so within 30 days.
If you have signed up to one of the parish sites, you will confirm your interest and we will collect information from you with your consent. You can unsubscribe from the list by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
Who we share your information with
- We may share your information with our data processors (such as server hosts or website developers) but only the information that is needed.
- In certain circumstances we may share data with other trusted GDPR compliant partners. In these cases we will always explain what the data will be used for and we will only share your information with your individual consent.
- If transferring information outside the EEA, we use partners who are signed up to Privacy Shield.
- We do NOT share your contact details with anyone else without you giving permission. No companies, no sponsors.
- How long we keep your information for
If you are an administrator on a parish site, we will keep your information until you request to be removed. You can request for us to remove your information at any point.
If you are signed up to one of our mailing lists, we will keep your information until you unsubscribe from the list, which you can do so with a link at the end of every email.
Accessing your information
You have a right to access all of your information. To do so, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org requesting access. We will then provide everything in your preferred format within 30 days.
- When you use the site, our computers put a session cookie on your computer. If you block this cookie the site can’t work. A session cookie is a small file that identifies who you are. After you log off the cookie is removed from your computer.
- We also record when you log-in and where you log-in from (your IP address). We log the IP address so that if someone registers on the site claiming to be someone else then we can see where they are logging on from. It also helps us track any technical issues.
- That sounds like a lot but it doesn’t get given away and nobody will be able to trace it to you.
Privacy and Cookies
- On 26 May 2012, the rules about cookies on websites changed.
- You may delete and block all cookies from this site, but this will mean that certain parts of the site will not work.
